Your First Castle Golf Round: Follow Your Curiosity
Updated: 16 hours ago
Your first round at Castle Golf does not need to begin with a perfect putt. It can begin with a look around: the palms, the water, the castle scenery, and a path that invites you to find out what comes next.
Our outdoor, 18-hole course in Fort Myers gives your party a shared adventure with a simple goal on each hole. Get the ball into the cup, enjoy the company, and learn a little as you go.
Start with the people, then the score
Before the first hole, decide who will record the scores and make sure everyone understands how your group will take turns. Read the posted guidance and ask our team about anything unfamiliar. Course-specific rules lead the way.
If you are bringing a child or a first-time player, explain the safe basics before offering technique: give the player room, keep the club head low, and wait until the hole ahead is clear. Keep children with their supervising adults throughout the round.

Let the first few holes teach you the feel
Use a comfortable stance and a gentle, controlled stroke. Notice how far the ball travels rather than trying to solve the whole game at once. For many beginners, learning the right pace is more useful than hunting for a spectacular shot.
Pick a line you can explain to yourself: where do you want the ball to go first, and where would you like it to finish? A putt that leaves an easy next shot can be satisfying even when it does not reach the cup immediately.
Make room for a small success

A child who misses the hole may still have made a much better stroke. A grown-up who sends the ball too far can laugh, adjust, and try a softer touch. You do not need a running commentary on every attempt.
Ask before coaching, offer one clear suggestion when help is wanted, and celebrate progress. A relaxed group gives a beginner room to discover the game instead of feeling watched by a panel of putting judges.
Notice the Kingdom around the game

Castle Golf's scenery gives your round more to remember than a sequence of scores. Look at how the castle sits among the greenery, how a bridge changes the view, or how the fountain draws your attention across the water.
Enjoy those details from intended guest areas. Keep photos brief when others are waiting to play, and ask staff for help if a ball leaves the playing area. The landscape stays enjoyable when everyone treats it with care.
Keep the plan easy to enjoy
Check current hours and weather before you set out, and allow enough time for your round. Choose comfortable footwear for an outdoor outing. If your party has a particular access, group, or supervision question, ask the team in advance.
Our Kingdom Rules story explains the courtesy that helps everyone share the course. Visit the Castle Golf website for current planning details, then bring your curiosity. Your first favorite moment is waiting to happen.
